9/6/19 - More Topographic practice
Directions:
1. Watch the video below to learn more about topographic maps (you already have learned a lot of this! It just goes into a little more depth!). Add any new information you learn to your notes we took yesterday in your journal.
2. After watching the video, title your next journal page "Topographic features of Haverhill, NH."
3. Go into the map below of Haverhill, NH. See if you can find the following features. When you think you have found one, describe and/or sketch what it looks like and indicate where it is on the map (ex. using coordinates, names of ponds/lakes/hills/mountains near it, etc.). It's okay if you don't find all of them, but you should be able to find most!
4. Take a look at Black Mountain on the map. Try to create a 3-dimensional sketch of what Black Mountain looks like. (use the REI link above to help you do this!). You can also see the hiking trail on the map! Based on the contour lines on the map, how do you expect the hiking trail to look along different parts when go on Monday? Use some evidence or examples from the map to support your answer.
